2023

Greetings friends,

Well we made it. It’s 2023 and a new year! A time for cleaning out holiday decor and setting goals galore. Typically I enjoy a little re-set myself, although the holidays were so busy I didn’t have time to make my own. I still enjoy hearing about other peoples resolutions and how they plan to get there.

All over the world people are thinking about how they might create new habits and reach their dreams. They’ve redesigned their day to be more productive, or more restful.

When I see people reach for their goals, it inspires me too! Especially those long-term ones. I can’t help but to admire that discipline and know-how to stay the course.

So, what type of New Year person are you?

Did you make resolutions and are working hard to keep them?

Are you moderately trying something new?

What about the month long challenges like dry January or Movember? (remember that movement?)

My husband is disciplined enough to tackle them both! I have proof he could give Tom Selleck a run for his money…

Sigh. My very own 1970s Fire Chief…wow.

If you’ve lost inspiration, don’t give up. Remember there’s nothing wrong with a little stop and start. And hey, its progress not perfection right? Even the tiniest changes will get you where you want to be, eventually.

Take a look at the date on this New Years post, I really wanted to write to you on the 1st, and it’s so not January 1st. C’est la vie!

For me, I know finding out what motivates me helps me the most when I begin to struggle with goals. If it doesn’t sound like fun, I have a really hard time completing it. If you are struggling with your newly created habits, think about what motivates you the most and put it into practice.

Hang a picture of the end result, give yourself small rewards along the way, or perhaps a sticker chart?

(Hey…if it works for teaching toddlers to use the potty, maybe it could work for me putting my laundry away!?)

I hope you stay inspired to make those shifts you’ve been longing to create.

Unless its a really big mustache, that’s one I’m not sure I can get behind.

Feel free to share what you are working on or how you’ve maintained your resolutions. Specifically, those go-to-bed early people…please tell me your ways. Maybe with your help, I can get better sleep in 2023!

Wishing you a little spark to whatever you started…

Xo,

Jenna

ps. If you aren’t a resolution maker, I see you. I have a post for you too. Stay tuned…
